Local Attractions

Carlisle Castle

Carlisle castle was originally built by William the Conqueror in 1092. It has been the setting for many battles and skirmishes over the years and more recently it is the home for the museum of the now defunct Kings Own Royal Border Regiment.

Hadrian's Wall

The Hadrian's Wall Heritage Trail is only half a mile away from Cambro House as it passes through the Great Border City of Carlisle.

The Borders

For many years the border area between England and Scotland were known as the 'debatable lands'. The families of the Grahams, Armstrongs, Elliots and many others fought and pillaged the area. Many buildings and sites still remain today.

The Lake District

This world heritage site needs no introduction. Cambro House makes a great base to use when exploring the beauty of the lakes.

Great Location

Cambro House is conveniently located close to Carlisle city centre but only minutes away from the M6 motorway. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the local area.
